MKU receives lab equipment from Seeding Labs, USA

Mount Kenya University, School of Pure and Applied Sciences receives equipment from Seeding Labs, (USA)through Instrumental Access program.

Program makes high-quality laboratory equipment and supplies available to university departments and research institutes in developing countries. It is the flagship program of Seeding Labs, a US-based nonprofit working to help scientists make discoveries that improve life and the planet.

Dr. Mary Muriuki the Dean School of Pure and Applied Sciences was among the 16 Awardees that received the grant from Seeding Labs in 2018.

A total of 168 equipment including the high profile diagnostic and research equipment such as CELL-DYN SAPPHIRE Hematology analyzer, Diagnostic, the only model in Africa, Immuno Assay ID Analyser, UV-VIS, Bio-Safety cabinet (HOOD) Class II Type 2A, Dissecting microscopes, Analytical weighing balances, Nitrogen Dewars among others.

MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Waudo during the receiving of the equipment thanked Seeding Labs for their donation and pointed that the equipment will be fully utilized in teaching/learning, research and collaborative Project. He was joined by Deputy Vice- Chancellor Academic and Research Affairs, Dr. Bibianne Waiganjo-Aidi.
